35 Bible Verses About Fear and Anxiety…

…to Remind Us God is in Charge.

Fear, anxiety coupled with worry, and a poor self-image are some weapons the enemy uses against us. They control our decisions and overwhelm us with a dark cloud of negativity.

With so many “crazy” things- disease, death, unemployment, economic uncertainty, crime, violence, natural disasters, persecution, wars, the list is endless…  happening around us today, there is so much that we can easily worry about. 

I struggled with fear and worry for many years. But over time, I have come to realize that many of the things I worried about and had anxiety over never happens.

My victory over fear did not happen suddenly, I gained it going through a process, over days, months, and years, of reading the word of truth- God’s truth about me, chewing on it through meditation and praying and confessing the word. The power in God’s word brings me victory over the enemy’s weapons.

Here some of the bible verses that have brought me success over fear and anxiety:

1. Deuteronomy 2:25

This day I will begin to put the dread and fear of you upon the nations under the whole heaven, who shall hear the report of you, and shall tremble and be in anguish because of you.

2. Deuteronomy 31:6

Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.

3. Deuteronomy 31:8

And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.

4. Joshua 1:9

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

5. 1 Chronicles 28:20

And David said to his son Solomon, “Be strong and of good courage, and do it; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD God-my God- will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.

In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?

Do not be afraid of sudden terror, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; For the Lord will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught.

Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.”

Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

God gives us His word (various bible verses) to remind us that He is Greater than anything whispering to us to be full of fear and anxiety. This should make us live courageously, boldly, and fearlessly in these very uncertain times.

Meditate and confess these bible verses and see God giving you victory over every fear and anxiety.
